Launched in 2020, blueberry chargers have been in great demand by customers around the world, thanks to several innovative features.
The i-charging fast and ultra-fast charger has already received several certifications including CE, Eichrecht, Cyber Security, Plug & Charge, ISO 15118 and most recently ETL. These certifications demonstrate the company’s commitment to quality and safety and have played a significant role in the demand from customers worldwide. Find out more about them:
CE Marking, this certification is mandatory for products produced globally and subsequently sold within the EU market. It serves as proof that blueberry has been found to comply with the safety, health, and environmental regulations set by the European Union.
Eichrecht is a German standard that requires that all components involved in the collection and processing of energy operate in a trustworthy and transparent manner. Its aim is to ensure transparent measurement and billing of the energy dispensed from EV charging stations to electric cars offering consumers full visibility of the amount of energy they are paying for. To meet these requirements, blueberry has a certified energy meter which accurately measures the kWh of energy consumed and displays this value to consumers, on its 32” touchscreen. blueberry encrypts this information before sending it to other systems, to prevent third parties from changing the data. In addition, blueberry also has a unique public key in a QR code, through which the consumer can verify the meter value, using an independent web/app/IT interface (Transparenzsoftware from S.A.F.E Initiative) that is in accordance with the Eichrecht legislation. This ensures that the EV driver can reliably check how much electricity has been used at what time.
i-charging’s fast charger not only has the Modul B (Baumusterprüfbescheinigung) certification for the product itself, but also received the Modul D conformity, which means that blueberry has a quality assurance of the production process, allowing its installation without needing any supplementary fiscalization, reducing costs and being more time-efficient for clients.
Cyber Security assessment by a third party, ensures the highest level of protection against cyber-attacks through the implementation of customised security measures and comprehensive security testing. To protect against the variety of attack types is required effective detection and mitigation strategies.
Plug & Charge is a user-friendly technology that simplifies the billing process for clients, allowing an automatic communication between the EV and the charging station, through secure authentication and authorization. i-charging is one of the first and few EVSE checked and validated by Hubject. To meet these requirements, our DC charger has implemented the ISO 15118, including OCPP 1.6 with the Plug & Charge extension, for secure communication. By joining Plug&Charge ecosystem, our blueberry chargers offer the safest and easiest way to validate and pay for a charging session to Charging Point Operators and vehicles that can support it.
ISO 15118 or “Road Vehicles – Vehicle to grid communication interface”, aims to establish a communication interface for electric vehicles (EVs) to facilitate bi-directional charging and discharging. This standard offers various functionalities, including secure communication, smart charging, and the convenient Plug & Charge feature utilized by certain EV networks. The Plug & Charge feature, which is made possible by ISO 15118, allows an EV to automatically identify and authenticate itself to a compatible charging station on behalf of the driver, enabling the vehicle to receive energy for recharging its battery. The driver’s only required action is to physically connect the charging cable to the EV and/or charging station. This connection prompts the car and charger to authenticate each other by exchanging pre-provided certificates, thus facilitating payment, and ensuring a user-friendly and secure charging experience.
ETL Listed Mark provides tangible evidence that a product complies with safety standards in North America. The ETL Listed Mark is widely accepted by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and code officials throughout the United States and Canada as confirmation that a product meets the established industry standards, being a trusted indicator of quality and compliance.
Achieving the above certifications enhances the credibility of blueberry chargers and builds trust in both consumers and businesses, by providing independent validation of their quality, safety, and reliability. Furthermore, they allow blueberry to expand the market reach, as many industries and sectors require compliance with certain standards before making purchasing decisions. By obtaining multiple certifications, not only demonstrates i-charging’s commitment to meet with stringent criteria, but also enhances the reputation, marketability, and overall appeal of its DC charger in a diverse and demanding marketplace.
